My beginner course, gear, and books - all in one easy to find place.

GEAR

STOPWATCH Any one will do as long as it has a silent feature. I prefer a heavy duty one.

STAND - BASE This is a piece of grip gear and I love how sturdy it is.

STAND - DIT TRAY I’ve covered mine in velcro so my laptop stays secure.

IMAGE CAPTURE If you have a newer laptop, you’ll need a USB-C adaptor as well.

SWITCHER BOX (mine) // ALT SWITCHER BOX (heard great things)

BNC CABLES These are great to start with!

HOLLYLAND COSMO WIRELESS TRANSMITTER If you’re tired of being teathered with BNC cables I highly recommend this piece of gear. I absolutely love it!

SOFTWARE (mine) // ALT SOFTWARE

LAPTOP I put a case on the bottom part only for my velcro situation on the DIT tray.

TOTE Great for stairs/curbs/etc!

BIGGER CART This is great for stage jobs.

STOOL If it’s out of stock, just search for a “telescope stool” - also I recommend adding a pad/cushion (buy separate)

CUPHOLDER There are plenty of color options - mine is hot pink!

TAPE I use this more than I thought I would.

TIMECODE SOFTWARE Great for commercials.

BOOKS

These books have served me well on my continuity journey:

Beyond Continuity by Mary Cybulski

Script Supervising and Film Continuity by Pat Miller

And these books aren’t about script supervising but they have made me a more well rounded filmmaker:

The Five C’s of Cinematography by Joseph Mascelli

Bare Bones Camera Course for Film and Video by Tom Schroeppel

In The Blink of the Eye: A Perspective on Film Editing by Walter Murch

The Anatomy of Story by John Truby

Directing Actors by Judith Weston
